Well, being your mom.... I couldn't let your post be the one with no comments. You can always count on me to open my mouth, sweetie!

With school having just started, and you comparing the current events in your life to school starting, I can't help reflecting back to all the years of school starting for you..... when we talked on the phone (well, on Skype) the other day and you compared it to wanting to have everything organized before the first day of school, that was so fitting.... you always loved the excitement of a new school year, new clothes, new notebooks and backpack and pens and pencils. Each school year was a new adventure for you and you always greeted each new year with a heart full of hope and optimism. And look at the adventures you're having now! Except this time, it's a new job, new laptop and new apartment and new bike! I hope this school year is your best, and worthy of your ever-present hope and optimism.

It's been so wonderful chatting with you these last few days on Skype, it's like you're right across the lake on Capital Hill. I can't WAIT to come see you guys in the spring!
